CONSTITUTION
OF
BOWIE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL BOOSTER CLUB
ARTICLE I: NAME
This organization shall be known as the James Bowie High School Baseball Booster Club of Arlington. Texas.
ARTICLE II: PURPOSE
The purpose is to stimulate interest in, and to provide support for, the interscholastic baseball program in Bowie High School.
ARTICLE III: POLICIES
A. The booster club shall operate within state laws and the U.I.L. rules.
B. The U.I.L. guidelines specify that a school official must have veto power over booster club activities. This designated official shall be appointed by the Principal of Bowie High School. All contact with the U.I.L. shall be through this designated school official.
C. The booster club has no authority to direct any coach in his duties, the schedule of contests, the rules for participation, the method of earning letters nor any other criteria dealing with the Bowie High School baseball program. These functions are strictly for the jurisdiction of, and administration by, the Arlington Independent School District.
D. The booster club may be dissolved at any time by the Principal of Bowie High School or the Head Baseball Coach. In the event of the dissolution of the booster club, its assets shall be given to Bowie High School for use in the baseball program.
ARTICLE IV: MEMBERSHIP
All persons over 18 years of age interested in the principles of this organization shall. upon payment of proper dues, become members.
ARTICLE V: OFFICERS
The officers of the booster club shall consist of a President, a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer.
ARTICLE VI: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors shall consist of officers and three other members who will be appointed to chair the following committees:
A. General Sales.
B. Special Events.
C. Telephone.
The Head Baseball Coach of Bowie High School or his designee shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.
ARTICLE VII: MEETINGS
Meetings shall be held at such times and locations as may be determined by the Board of Directors. Special meetings may be called by the President, Board of Directors or at the written request of ten members.
ARTICLE VIII: AMENDMENTS
Any Article, except this Article, of this Constitution, may be amended at any meeting by two-thirds vote of the membership present, after the amendment has been presented ir. writing, read and filed with the Secretary at a previous meeting or, presented to the membership by regular mail posted at least five days prior to a scheduled meeting.
